Jonn is a well known recording and touring artist, but many may not know that Jonn is also an FAA licensed pilot with advanced instrument and commercial ratings. Jonn is a former USAF search and rescue pilot and holds the coveted Disaster Relief Presidential Award with Valor for his flying in the Deep Water Horizon BP oil spill. In 1999, Jonn performed at the 30th anniversary celebration of Apollo 11 with Neil Armstrong in attendance televised worldwide from Cape Canaveral. He has given premier performances at the 1996 founding of the Ansari X-Prize in St. Louis, the National Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, and the annual International Space Development Consortium held in Washington, DC. While at Lucasfilm, Jonn was able to spend some time with Gary Rydstrom, Academy Award winning sound designer and Director of Creative Operations for Skywalker Sound.
